Outside UK and EC : In addition to the above we will accept the cancellation and return of goods shipped outside the EC within 30 working days of dispatch. We will refund the cost of the goods but not the original shipping to the customer within 30 days.

The right to cancel allows the consumer time to examine the goods or services, as they would have when buying in a shop. The cooling off period starts when the contract is concluded and ends 14 calendar days after the day the goods are received.

This means you have 14 days to check the product is the correct product for your needs, that the appearance of the product matches your expectations, and it does not differ significantly from how it is portrayed online or in a printed catalogue. You can examine the goods as if you were in a shop. This does not include using/testing the goods out, opening sealed manuals or other accessories.

Additional services such as Gift Wrapping and enhanced delivery services that have been completed are not refundable.

Goods and their packaging that are the subject of a cancelled order must be returned at the customers expense in merchantable condition. As you would expect all of our products offered for sale are new and unused and consequently we are unable to restock goods that have been used.

Before returning goods you must contact us and obtain an RMA number. You can contact us by sending and email to [email protected] you can use this form Order Cancellation Form to assist you. If you wish you can print out the form and post it to us.

Processing goods returned without an RMA number may be delayed or even rejected. Postage or Carriage due returns will be refused. Before any credit notes can be raised all items have to be checked by either our Tech department or the manufactures to confirm the fault. This can take up to 10 working days.

Products returned from non UK customers, domestic clients or have been ordered for use outside of domestic home, personal use, lamps Bulbs sales or replacement parts and professional products will be subject to a restocking charge of 35% or £45 (whichever is the greater, inclusive of VAT) will be applied to the return credit. Products must be unopened, in pristine condition and with the original seals intact.

The goods have arrived damaged

IMPORTANT - Please check your item on arrival

If there is a problem with the goods, you may reject them on delivery.

Damaged items must be reported to us within 18 hours from the time of receipt, after this time a claim for damage cannot be made.

Damaged items must obtain a returns number and be returned to us by the carrier we specify. If this is not adhered to we will NOT refund the return costs.

Items must be returned to us within 7 days of being issued a returns number. Items dispatched after this time will not be accepted.

Exceptions and conditions

Unfortunately, opened software cannot be returned in most cases. The cancellation of contracts for the purchase of copyrighted goods i.e. all software, media and sample CD's can not be accepted if the goods have been opened or unsealed in any way. Certain goods that are ordered to specifically meet customer's requirements are also exempt from these regulations.

Internal computer components, such as PCI sound cards, may also not be refundable if they have been inserted in to a computer or the bag seal has been broken.

All microphones, any in-ear earphones, or in-ear monitors, and any other items that touch your mouth, your nose, or your inner ear may not be able to be returned once opened due to health reasons.

The following items are classed as professional use items or as replacement parts and are not intended for consumer use, therefore are not covered by the above

  • Loudspeaker drivers
  • Replacement diaphragms
  • High power lighting equipment, or lighting equipment requiring trained rigging
  • High power amplifiers
  • High power speakers

If you are in any doubt as to whether an item is suitable for your needs, please call us, or email us for advice first. This may save a lot of time and hassle in you ordering the wrong item, and then having to return it. Our staff will be pleased to help you make the right choice, first time.

Special order items may not be returned. Special orders are orders where products are designed to customer's designs of specifications

More info about the EU Distance Selling Directive can be found at: http://www.hmso.gov.uk/si/si2000/20002334.htm

All of the above does not affect your statutory rights.

If your goods are visibly damaged on arrival you should either write on the carrier’s Proof of Delivery Document that the packaging is damaged, or refuse to accept the delivery. Please also log the return within 5 days with details of the damage. This will help us considerably in raising the matter with our carrier. We will be able to approve the return and will credit the return once the product has been returned. If the damage has not been marked on the POD or the claim is not logged within 5 days we may not been able to proceed with the claim and may only be able to approve the return if accepted by the carrier.

Waste Battery Regulations

If you wish to dispose of your waste batteries in an environmentally friendly way, you can find your local waste portable battery recycling facility at www.recyclenow.com. Most supermarkets and shops that sell batteries will have collection bins for used batteries, and some town halls, libraries or schools may also set up collection points.

WEEE Regulations.

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive) aims to minimise the impact of electrical and electronic goods on the environment, by increasing re-use and recycling and reducing the amount of WEEE going to landfill. It seeks to achieve this by making producers responsible for financing the collection, treatment, and recovery of waste electrical equipment, and by obliging distributors to allow consumers to return their waste equipment .

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive was agreed on 13 February 2003, along with the related Directive on Restrictions of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS).

As part of WEEE CommsAndSound.com, must facilitate the take-back of household WEEE from UK consumers and has decided to fulfill its obligations in this area by offering free in store take back. Distributors supplying new electrical or electrical equipment (EEE) have to ensure that waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) from private households can be returned to them on a one-to-one basis providing that the WEEE returned is of equivalent type to and has fulfilled the same function as the new EEE purchased and returned by the specified method. For example, an old MP3 Player can be returned when purchasing a new MP3 Player .

As soon as you have purchased a product from CommsAndSound.com, please email [email protected] with your order number, name, address and the WEEE product that you are returning to us, to dispose of safely.

Old electronic equipment that still works can be given to charities or why not try ebaying it and earn a bit of money for yourself? Either of these suggested methods will prolong the life of the electronic equipment and reduce their impact on the environment.

Find more information on WEEE recycling, and locate your local recycling centre, at www.recyclenow.com

To remind you that old electrical equipment can be recycled, it is now marked with a crossed-out wheeled bin symbol. Please do not throw any electrical equipment (including those marked with the crossed out wheeled bin symbol) in your bin.
